As you are conducting your research using Citation Tracking, you may need to come back to the search. Citation Gecko does not automatically save your searches or results. Once the tab/window is closed, the tool resets.
This is when it becomes important to keep a saved copy of your Citation Tracking search saved on your device.
In the bottom left-hand side of the screen, at the end of the list, there is an option to export your Citation Tracking search. Select this option to beginning saving.
When this option pops up in your downloads, save your Citation Tracking search somewhere you will remember. Preferably, with the other resources for your research topic.
The next time you come to the Citation Gecko website you will be greeted with the welcome screen again. Select 'Start discovering papers'.
When you see this screen, instead of selecting 'Search for papers' again, choose the first option 'Import from Bibtex'.
Note: Bibtex is the type of file you used to export your search.
Once you've select 'Import from Bibtex' you'll see this screen. Click choose file and import your exported Bibtex file with your Citation Tracking search.
Give Citation Gecko a minute to import your seed papers and rediscover your cited papers, and your Citation Tracking journey can be resumed.
