To switch views from Timeline to Network view, there are two buttons in the top right hand corner of the screen.

To change between views, simply click the other button.

No content, papers, or information, will be changed by switching views.

The second view in Citation Gecko is the Network view which shows you the connections between seed and cited papers in a web format.

Benefits of the Netowork view:

  • Can easily identify how seed papers are connected to each other and cited papers
  • Determine which papers are more prominent (have been cited/cite more) by finding which of the connected papers feature most often

Similar to the Timeline view, seed papers are coloured gold, cited papers are dark grey.

The larger a cited paper's circle, the more seed papers it is referenced in.

These connections can be viewed as default, with lines connecting related papers.

To view the reference information for a paper, select the paper's circle in the web and the paper will be highlighted in the left hand list.

Click a reference paper's circle makes the selected resource and it's connection darker, while the rest fade, to more easily identify where the connections are made.
