Reading List Guide: Creating a Reading List

Creating a reading list

1) Select Reading List from your Unit Content (BB Ultra) or the side menu (BB Original). If Reading List does not display follow the steps under the tab Accessing Reading List in this guide.

  • Select Create new list to create a completely new Reading List
  • Select Select existing list if you would like to use a previous Reading List used in the unit or use a Reading List from another unit

2) Use the unit code as your Reading List Title:

Examples: NUR135, PSY150, SWK102

You can add a description (not required).

Ensure the Reading List is linked to the correct course.

Select Next.

Note: Do not use Semester or Year information in the title. When your Reading List is rolled over for a new semester the title will remain the same.  

 

3) Select a template in Create sections:

Default: Only has a section for 'Prescribed texts'

Weeks: Has sections for Prescribed texts, Recommended texts and a section for Weeks 1-12

Modules: Has sections for Prescribed texts, Recommended texts and a section for Modules 1-6

Topics: Has sections for Prescribed texts, Recommended texts and a section for Topics 1-6

Select Create

 

Use the template that provides the structure used in your unit materials. You can change the structure, edit section names, add/delete sections etc.

4) Your Reading List will open looking like this.

 

Adding sections

1) If you would like to add extra Sections to your Reading List: 

  • Select +Add
  • Select New section from the drop down menu

 

2) Fill in details for your new section:

  • Give your section a title 
  • Possibly provide a description for your section
  • Indicate where the new section should be placed
  • Then click on Add

Re-naming or deleting sections

1) To re-name or delete a Section: 

  • Click on the 3 dots in line with our section title

 

2) Select Edit section or Delete section
