What is Societal Impact?

Societal impact as "the demonstrable contribution that research makes to the economy, society, environment and culture beyond the contribution to academic research - Australian Research Council (2017) 

Funding bodies are increasingly interested in the social, environmental. cultural and economic impact of your research. It can be used to compliment your citation metrics and Altmetrics.
