Grants, Awards, Funding, and Other Opportunities

The annual Northern Territory Literary Awards have celebrated the unpublished work of Northern Territory writers for more than 35 years. All writers from across the Northern Territory are encouraged to enter unpublished work for a chance to win cash prizes, free memberships and masterclasses. 
The Australia Council for the Arts invest in Australian arts and creativity through grants, initiatives, programs and opportunities. Check out the Investment and Development section of their website to find a grant/opportunity and apply now.
The National Library of Australia Creative Arts Fellowships offer $10,000 to support writers and artists to spend four weeks at the National Library researching and developing a new artistic concept, artwork or body of work inspired or informed by the collections.
Established to encourage and promote visual artists and writers, the Anthology Creative Awards provide a platform for emerging creatives to publish their work. There are four categories: Photography, Cover Art, Short Story and Poetry. The winner of each category will win a cash prize and publication in a future issue.
This program is presented in partnership with the Northern Territory Government through Arts NT Nine fellowships are available, with three residency and six virtual fellowships. Participants will be selected from the Top End and Central Desert regions and one fellowship place will be reserved for a First Nations writer.
The Australian/Vogel’s Award for Young Writers is the most prestigious Australian award for an unpublished manuscript by a writer under the age of thirty-five. The winning manuscript will receive prize money of $20,000 and will be published by Allen & Unwin with an advance against royalties.
