This Guide has been created to help Bachelor of Health Science students find useful Library resources

Library Service

If you are not sure where or how to find information, struggle with referencing, need access to a computer, need a book or just a friendly person to talk to, come and see us at the library. If you are studying online, send us an email or call us.

Liaison Librarians are here to assist you for researching and referencing.

The Liaison Librarians can help you:

  •     Formulate your search strategies for finding information
  •     Search for information using Library Search
  •     Search online information resources and the internet
  •     With your referencing queries

During semester hours (semester 1 and 2) students are able to drop in for assistance at Casuarina Library, Monday to Friday 10am-1pm (starting week 1 of the semester).

After these hours or during the semester break contact the librarians directly for assistance.

Academic Skills Support

The Academic Language and Learning Success Program (ALLSP) is a free service available to CDU students.

The ALLSP staff can assist you to:

  • understand your assignments
  • know what standard of work is required
  • know how to get the grades you want
  • express yourself better in writing
  • produce academically appropriate work (essays, reports, journal articles, research papers)

On the ALLSP Study Skills website you will find a comprehensive range of study skills information like for example:

  • How to write an essay
  • How to write a report
  • Academic writing
  • Critical thinking
  • Effective note making

ALLSP offers free workshops on-campus and online to support you as you learn academic skills, like:

  • Paraphrase, quote & summarise
  • Interpret and plan your assignment
  • Plagiarism
