Negotiated by the Council of Australasian University Libraries (CAUL) Consortium, University-wide Open Access agreements (also called "Read and Publish”) enable authors to publish their articles in selected open access journals immediately upon acceptance for publication, free of individual article processing charges (APCs).

CDU Library will purchase individual subscriptions to The Lancet and Women & Birth for 2026. This means CDU will retain access to the Elsevier journals we currently subscribe to (excluding newly published materials). Access to ClinicalKey, Scopus, and Osmosis will continue unchanged. |

We are reviewing additional access options and assessing potential impacts on teaching and publishing at CDU. Further updates will be provided as more information becomes available. |

The CDU has agreements with the publishers listed below. Note that publishers may not include all titles in their agreements, so always check if the SPECIFIC journal you are going to publish in is available for open access. For details on specific requirements for each publisher, please use individual publisher links below or go to the CAUL website.
* Indicates agreement has a yearly publishing cap. If you have an article accepted after the publishing cap has been reached you will be notified that an APC is payable to publish open access.

Always check if the SPECIFIC journal you are going to publish in is available for open access. Some journals are not included in the agreement, even if their publisher is.
