Use the tool responsibly. The CDU Primo Research Assistant is a helpful starting point, but it’s not a substitute for critical thinking, proper referencing, or your own hard work. |
The CDU Research Assistant can be found in the top menu bar of Library Search. To begin, click to open the tool.

| Pros | Cons |
|
Natural language - ask questions as you would in conversation. Saves time - helps summarise some of the key points in sources. Provides sources - shows you where the info came from so you can read further. Suggests related questions - gives you ideas for further exploration on the topic. Further searches - you can run a related search in the base CDU Library Search to find more info. |
Answers aren't perfect - sometimes the tool will provide inaccurate, off-topic, or out-of-date info. Can't answer previous queries - meaning you can't ask clarifying or follow-up questions. Only uses five sources - the summary information it provides is based on only five sources. Needs well-structured queries - otherwise the tool struggles to understand what you are looking for. Only a tool - it can be used to improve workflows, but you still need to think critically and check sources |
