Welcome to the Library Treasure Hunt

Welcome to the CDU Library Treasure Hunt!

Open Day 28 August 2011

Get to know CDU library by completing a treasure hunt!

All you need to do to complete the secret phrase is follow the clues and collect the secret words (Hint: write them down as you go)

Do you have a smartphone (iPhone, Android phone, etc)? Install a free QR code reader and you're ready to go!

Grab a pen and paper, and let's get started!

There are two paths to choose from depending on whether you are treasure hunting with or without a smartphone.

Once you start the library treasure hunt, it's important that you keep following the same animal as you progress through the clues. Each animal will lead you to a different secret phrase, so you will need to stay with them until you finish :)

1. Treasure hunt participants with smartphones

On campus participants with smartphones start at the Library service desk!

Collect your postcard to start you on your way.

You can play whether you have a smartphone or not. There's something for everyone!

What's a QR code?

QR codes are two dimensional barcodes that contain infomation such as web links, text or contact information.

With a smartphone and a free easy-to-install QR code reader, it only takes a quick snap with the camera on your smartphone to instantly take you to the information revealed by the code.

Here's one we made that points to this Library Treasure Hunt LibGuide (we'll be wearing it on t-shirts!)

If you have a smartphone, we encourage you to try the QR code version of our treasure hunt, whether you're on campus or online at home. Whenever you see a QR code, scan it using your smartphone to get the information about your secret words and the next clue!
