Social Work Guide: Writing help

This Guide has been created to assist Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Humanitarian and Community Studies students access and use Library Resources effectively.

Language and Learning Support

Language and Learning Support is a free service available to all CDU students.

The Language and Learning Support team can assist with:

  • English language skills
  • Understanding your assignments
  • Writing
  • Presentations
  • Other study and exam skills

Language and Learning Support provide useful study skills resources to help students develop skills in areas such as:

  • How to write an essay
  • How to write a report
  • Academic writing
  • Critical thinking
  • Effective note making

The Language and Learning Support team also offer free workshops. Workshops change regularly and include topics such as:

  • Understanding your assignment
  • Introduction to academic writing
  • Paraphrasing and synthesising sources
